I never run by distance (unless in a race). I am a fan of the Lydiard idea of simply running by time. That way I never race myself and I never have to have pre-established routes. It just makes sense.
Yesterday I went out and ran 2hrs. and 1 minute. I was completely spent by the time I was done. I assume the only reason that I made it that long was due to the fact that I took Friday and Saturday off. Sometimes you just know you need a break before injury sets in--you can only push so far. I'm finally realizing how it might feel to run a marathon...man it takes a lot out of you. It's not like a 5k when you are recovered the next day. This is going to be rough.
Another reason why I felt so good running yesterday is probably because I didn't have any beer on Saturday night. I've noticed that this really makes a difference. I should watch the beer intake, at least until after October (sadface).
